BLACKBURN Rovers' chaplain the Rev Ken Howles has added his voice to a national campaign for a Christian radio station by conducting a "forbidden" service in his church.
Mr Howles recorded the service at St Bartholomew's, Ewood, on Sunday morning on behalf of the United Christian Broadcasters campaign, which seeks a change in the law which currently forbids the introduction of a national Christian station.
The programme, which will include the service as well as views from the congregation in support of such a radio station, will be broadcast on satellite radio in the next couple of months.
Mr Howles began the service at Rovers' Ewood Park ground before adjourning to the Bolton Road church.
He said: "The service was recorded to highlight the fact that we cannot have a national Christian radio station in a Christian country while pornography and such is widely seen on the TV.
"This programme will only be heard by people who have Sky TV and I think it is unfair and ridiculous to a point."
