A PERSON was released from wreckage by paramedics today after a three-car pile-up which blocked a busy main road.
Emergency services were called to Haslingden Road, near Whitaker Park, Rawtenstall. The road was blocked for half an hour as they dealt with the incident which caused lengthy traffic queues.
One person was helped from the wreckage by an ambulance crew. The ambulance service said one casualty was taken to Blackburn Royal Infirmary. It was not known how badly injured they were.
