AN inspirational play gave primary school children from across Blackburn and Darwen an insight into what might happen if an eight-year-old child suddenly became queen of the borough.
The Talia Theatrum theatre group's free performance of Queen Mel at Blackburn's King George's Hall followed the story of the little girl who becomes queen of the fictional town of Bluckbarn after her father dies.
Queen Mel forms a children's parliament so people will listen to the ideas and opinions of children.
The performance was organised by Blackburn with Darwen Council as part of Local Democracy Week.
