BLACKBURN'S Mark Schofield became Lancashire Tennis Champion for a fifth time at the Lancashire Club, Middleton, over the weekend.
Mark, 25, retained his singles title by beating Southport's Stephen Dodd 6-2, 6-0 in the final.
Later he teamed up with Chris Peet to retain the doubles title with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Brendan McGuire and Eric Knowles.
Mark, a professional coach based at Ribble Valley Tennis Centre, and Blackburn Northern, is a former national junior champion and professional player with experience against a number of the world's top players.
Six years ago he decided on a coaching career instead of playing full-time tennis and is one of only a handful of UK coaches to achieve the Performance Coaches Award.
