Harry's Stable Whispers
ONCE again it's time to follow the soft ground specialists with all the rain we have had over the last couple of days.
Jockey Francis Norton who had a big price double at Ayr last week, and was also third in the Ayr Gold Cup, told me over lunch on Sunday that Warring Kingdom will win again next time out, and that he will make a winner for Paul Cole on Friday. So put Warring Kingdom into your diary.
Saffizz ran no race at Ayr on Friday and will be off to Newmarket Sales in November. He has had a long season, but that was not him in his last two runs. He is a much better horse than that, but he's rated 90 at the moment and that's very high to start a three-year-old career, but he should double his purchase price at the sales.
Swan at Whalley is settled into his new routine at the Doncaster Northern Racing School, and the young apprentices should learn a thing or two from riding Swanny. At Hambleton the girls who used to ride him never knew what he would do from one day to another on the gallops, but he would run away from them at some point.
One of the Margarets who owns It's Another Gift trained by Jack Berry out of their mare Margarets Gift, says It's Another Gift will win at Musselburgh on Sunday. Alan Bailey's horses are coming back to form and at Chester on Wednesday First Truth should give a big run. Also at Goodwood on Wednesday Mary Jane should give a good account in the sprint. On Thursday at Goodwood, Green Card will appreciate the softer condition and with John Reid on board will not be lacking for guidance.
At Pontefract Blushing Grenadier will love the soft ground, but if they keep him for Redcar on Friday still follow him as they have had plenty of rain there.
Son of Snurge should win the 3.40 at Redcar on Friday and hopefully he will have Francis Norton to guide him home.
Have a good week.
