A MILLENNIUM membership drive has been launched to attract new members to the Blackburn Rotaract Club.
The Club meets twice monthly, and is part of a worldwide network of more than 6,000 clubs. It holds a wide range of activities and events throughout the year, which include pub nights, cinema and theatre trips, safari suppers, 10-pin bowling, and clubbing.
Kate Jacklin, Publicity Officer, said: "Blackburn Rotaract is aimed at men and women aged 18-29 from the Blackburn and Darwen area. It offers a great opportunity to make new friends, which is particularly helpful if you are new to the area or have returned after being away at university to find all your usual crowd have scattered far and wide."
Geoff Moss, membership officer, said: "We also aim to raise money for charity and put something back into the community by arranging more than just social events, but all the better if we can combine the two!
"One of our community projects is taking part in the Blackburn & District Talking Newspaper for the Blind."
Anyone who is over the age limit for Rotaract but would still like to be involved in a club offering similar activities, can join the local Rotaserv group.
