A WEAKENED Bolton side booked their ticket into round three of the Worthington Cup within seven minutes of the opening whistle.
Boss Colin Todd chose to rest the likes of Per Frandsen, Bob Taylor and Eidur Gudjohnsen but Wanderers still wrapped up the second leg early on.
Bo Hansen opened the scoring four minutes in when he volleyed home a Dean Holdsworth cross.
Three minutes later Holdsworth was felled when sprinting through on goal and the ref pointed to the spot.
Gill's keeper Anthony Williams - on loan from Blackburn Rovers - saved the penalty but Holdsworth hammered in the rebound.
The visitors tried in vain to get back in the game. Manny Omoyimni and Andy Thomson both seeing long-range strikes drift wide of the target.
