A COUPLE who are expecting relatives from across the world to descend on them for the new millennium are hoping someone will come to their rescue.
Bill and Carol Hazard, from The Spinney, Beardwood, Blackburn, are expecting visitors from as far afield as New Zealand, Brazil and Australia.
But because accommodation will be at a premium over the New Year weekend the couple are struggling to find somewhere for their visitors to stay.
Bill, an engineer who works in Nelson, said: "My brother Jason moved to New Zealand in 1996. Instead of celebrating the new millennium in New Zealand he has decided to come home to Blackburn where he was born and bred.
"The trouble is all my other relatives have decided to come to Blackburn for a get-together and they are travelling from all over the world.
"We are desperate for somewhere to put everyone and would love to hear from anyone who can help us out."
Bill can be contacted on Blackburn 01254 662173.
