A FORMER preparatory school headmaster has been bailed to await trial accused of indecency.
Rae Carter, 68, of Bleasdale Avenue, Clitheroe, a former head of St Mary's Hall, Stonyhurst, denied the charge when he appeared at Preston Crown Court.
He is accused of indecency with a boy in 1973.
The trial, set for March 20 next year, is expected to last two days, and Carter was remanded on conditional bail.
In a separate hearing, John Steel, 75, who was arrested as part of the same investigation, denied one charge of indecency, and six allegations of indecent assault.
The case against Steel, from Copthorne Common, West Sussex, was adjourned to a date to be fixed.
