SEVEN jobs were axed by the receiver at car dealers Seed Ford of Nelson.
But initial signs that a buyer would rescue the troubled family-run firm as a going concern were described as "encouraging" by joint receiver Malcolm Shierson, of Manchester accountants Grant Thornton.
The Rigby Street garage and salesroom site was later to close.
