PRESTON'S Blind Bowling Club have won the English National Triples Championship for the Visually Impaired for the first time after an excellent victory at Weston Super Mare last weekend.
The team was Henry Edwards, Tony Kimpton and Rob Bryant.
Preston, already the North West champions, saw off Yeoville in the semi-finals on Saturday morning before beating Waveney in the finals.
Club coach Bernard Goldwin said: "I knew they had it in them. They have got to the semi-finals so many times but to get this one stage further is simply fantastic."
