I SUGGESTED the plan to rebuild Ryelands to the Labour Council five years ago but they did not listen - which turned out to be their downfall from power.
But I proposed at the time, that they sell the site to a private developer, as the site is one of the best in Lancaster boasting impressive views to the east and west - it must be worth millions to the council. Stop building more houses when they're are thousands standing empty and going for a song. We don't want more ghettos - house the people of Lancaster and give them back their dignity. Don't let the neighbours from hell drag everyone else down to their level - better still leave it to the housing associations to house these people then the rest if us are not left with the bill of clearing up after them.
