BLACKPOOL Scorpions recovered from a nightmare start to record their first win of the season when they beat Irlam Hornets 48-10.
An unconverted try from the home side stung the Scorpions into action and two superb solo tries from Craig Campbell and a further two penalties soon put the Scorpions in control.
Campbell went on to complete a first half hat-trick following good work by Neil Gavaghan to give the Scorpions a 22-4 lead at half-time.
The Scorpions continued to dominate after the break and a flowing move started by Andy Johnston was finished by Simon Pritchard.
Second row forward Paul Gray then powered his way to a further try, again converted by Campbell and after the Hornets grabbed a consolation try, the Scorpions went on to make the game safe with three further tries.
First, Daron Green powered over after good work by Gary Parker, then Pritchard scored under the posts after his own outrageous dummy.
Campbell scored his fourth to finish with a personal tally of 32 points from four tries and eight goals.
