WHEN you have the whole of America from which to choose a location for the video to your new single, opting to cross the Atlantic and shoot it in Lancashire might seem a little odd.
But Perfect 10, a new female five-piece who have spent the past two weeks in Preston recording their debut single Stronger, prefer Lancs to Yanks.
And any locals who have watched them perform at venues including Heaven and Hell in Blackpool, or Preston North End's Deepdale ground on Tuesday, should keep a close eye on MTV. They could find themselves featured on the group's new video in the near future.
Their performances throughout the county have been filmed and clips will be used in the girl's debut video, which is currently being made ahead of their single release.
The girls - Casey, 19, Natalie, 21, Jenny, 21, Naomi, 20 and Alexis, 21 - wowed crowds in Blackpool and Preston with their funky performance, and they said they have had a similar reaction elsewhere.
Naomi said: "The response we have had since we got here has been terrific. We've even had people singing along with it, which is great seeing as we have only performed the song live four times!"
Alexis added: "It has all been very positive and we are pleased with the way it has gone. We just want to get the single released now." The girls have already been likened to the Spice Girls in America, a comparison which Perfect 10 aren't too bothered about.
Casey added: "Normally, girl groups come from the UK so it is quite unusual to see an all-American girl group.
"The Spice Girls have been very successful and we can't complain if we are compared to them, although we are different."
The girls have now completed their debut single, which was recorded at Production Line in Red Scar, Preston, and are preparing to fly back to America.
Their single is expected to be released within the next 30 days.
It could shoot them to superstardom - and give scores of Lancastrians the chance to say "I saw them before they were famous".
