A DECISION on whether to hold an independent investigation into the case of "unfairly dismissed" former tourism officer David Christley will be made at a special meeting next week.
The contentious issue, which has split the city council's political groups, was briefly discussed at a personnel sub-committee on Wednesday. The Independents and Greens want someone from ACAS to take a fresh look at the case, which was described by an employment tribunal as "substantively and procedurally unfair." Labour, Liberal and some Conservatives believe the matter warrants no further investigation.
