FIREFIGHTERS saved 50 ducks and geese, 10 rabbits and 11 cats from a barn fire on Tuesday night.
The fire broke out at Manor House Farm in Garswood Road, at about 10pm on Tuesday, September 21, and took firefighters from Newton and Parr about 90 minutes to bring under control.
An ex army single decker bus was badly damaged by the fire, along with the contents of the barn and the barn itself.
Because of the large quantity of hay and straw in the barn, firefighters stayed on standby at the farm overnight in case the fire restarted.
