BUSINESS Environment Association (BEA) Bury has its own "danger" man.
Daniel McGuigan has qualified as a dangerous goods safety adviser and will be able to offer guidance on such issues to local companies.
He successfully completed a training course organised by the BEA at its Link House headquarters in Bury. His qualification is in accordance with the Transport of Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser Regulations 1999.
Bury BEA is now able to offer this service to customers dealing with the transportation, manufacture and/or handling of dangerous goods, as recognised by UK and European legislation.
Daniel's functions will include monitoring practices and procedures in relation to the transport of dangerous goods.
Customers will get an initial site audit resulting in a report detailing issues raised.
Assistance also includes help in the preparation of suitable operational procedures and the development of accident procedures.
Bury BEA will also assist in the compiling of accident reports, the provision of relevant documentation and regular updates on alterations and amendments to regulations.
And telephone helpline assistance on matters relating to dangerous goods transportation is also available.
