CAMPAIGNERS for the legalisation of cannabis in East Lancashire held their second annual Picnic in the Park to highlight their fight.
The event in Blackburn's Corporation Park on Saturday was organised by David Wilson, editor of the town's pro-cannabis magazine Hybrid News.
Mr Wilson, 34, of Bolton Road, Ewood, said: "We want the Government to end 71 years of cannabis prohibition and the Picnic in the Park was one of a series of similar events held all over the country this weekend, including a massive demo in London's Hyde Park."
Mr Wilson, a member of a national pro-cannabis lobby group, went on: "I think at the very least they should legalise cannabis for medical purposes because it's proven to help the suffering of people with multiple sclerosis, AIDS and cancer."
