LEE Carsley has fired a warning to Blackburn Rovers' First Division rivals prior to his side's trip to Swindon tonight with the message: "We can match anyone!"

Rovers extended their unbeaten run to six games with a 2-0 win over Walsall on Saturday and victory could take Brian Kidd's men into the top six.

And Carsley believes that performance proved beyond doubt their First Division credentials.

"Even watching the game against Ipswich and Manchester City on Sunday, I don't think either of the teams played the kind of football we played on Saturday. We've got no-one to fear," he said.

Despite that, Rovers aren't expecting an easy ride against a Swindon side just one place off the bottom of the table and with only one League win this year.

"They will definitely be looking forward to us going there," Carsley added.

"I think it will be one of their biggest home crowds and I think their players will be up for it, like we are.

"We are on a bit of a roll now so we are looking forward to every game.

"It was a matter of time before we sorted out our results and they're coming good now."

However, manager Brian Kidd insists that Rovers are far from the finished article.

"I keep repeating that we won't get complacent here," he said. "There's a long way to go and we've done nothing yet. "I honestly believe, and I'm not just saying it, there's a long, long way to go.

"We won't get carried away, there's no chance of that."

Kidd may name an unchanged side, although he will check on Egil Ostenstad and Matt Jansen who missed the Walsall game with a virus.

"We'll wait and see the results of the tests but the two of them are struggling, they've both been poorly, Matty for nearly a week now," he said.

Ostenstad may be fit enough to return via the bench and Nathan Blake, named in the Wales squad for their game against Switzerland on October 9, is also likely to be included after being rested for Saturday's game.

Kevin Gallacher will be looking to partner Ashley Ward up front again and his return on Saturday underlined the strength-in-depth Kidd is starting to get at his disposal.

The missing piece of the jigsaw was provided in midfield by new signing Per Frandsen, and Carsley is looking forward to developing their partnership further tonight. Swindon will check on the fitness of central defender Gareth Davies who picked up a knock in their defeat at Port Vale on Saturday. If he misses out, 17-year-old James Williams will play in front of former Rovers keeper Frank Talia.
