MUM Carol Haslam thought it was a fairytale when she was told she had beaten competition from thousands of entrants to win a dream holiday competition.
And when she had finally been convinced it was all true she plumped for the world of make-believe as her destination - Disneyland in Florida.
Carol, 28, from Longridge, won a draw organised by the Lancashire energy efficiency initiative Millenergy, sponsored by Owens Corning.
She will use the travel vouchers she won in the draw to take her husband Steve and children Luke, five, and Natalie, four to the States.
Carol said: "I'd completely forgotten that I'd entered the competition so it came as a big shock when I was informed that I'd won.
"I've never won anything before and this holiday will be my first trip abroad."
The competition was organised to mark the first anniversary of the campaign to reduce 'greenhouse' gases.
Millenergy spokesman John Cottam said: "The competition was run in all 13 of the Lancashire council districts participating in the Millenergy scheme. The response to the draw was overwhelming."
Any homeowner wishing to have a free energy efficiency survey carried out by Millenergy should contact 0800 174 542.
