IN response to Councillor Dorothy Walsh (Letters, September 21), when will the Labour Party and the Blackburn Labour Group stop using as their last line of defence the much-quoted phrase, 'Had it not been for the previous 18 years of Tory government'?
This has now become the Labour Party's cover-all comment to deflect criticism of their own policies.
Is the Labour Group unable to accept its responsibilities to the people of Blackburn with Darwen? Will they continue to blame their shortcomings and failure to deliver on previous administrations?
A question for your readers: How long has the Labour Group been the controlling party in Blackburn Council? Answers on a postcard please.
Coun Michael Law-Riding (Conservative, Roe Lee Ward), Trinity Court, Blackburn.
