A £2.7million investment is paying dividends.

The chemical etching facility at BAe Samlesbury is used to remove material from components for aircraft including Eurofighter Typhoon and Airbus.

The 60 metre long facility enables etching to be carried out without operaters coming into direct contact with chemicals.

"It offers a safer working environment for our operators and uses more environmentally friendly chemicals," said Andy Shorthouse, production team team leader.
