STAN Ternent will be out to upset his former boss tomorrow by ending the longest unbeaten record in the Nationwide League.
Brentford, who haven't lost for 24 games, are managed by club chairman Ron Noades.
And it was under Noades' ownership that Ternent helped Steve Coppell establish Crystal Palace in the top-flight in the late 1980s.
Ternent has been impressed, although not surprised by what Noades has achieved since taking over at Brentford last year, guiding them to the Third Division title last season and now fifth place in Division Two.
"The difference is that unless he sacks himself he's there for the duration. He's very single-minded and is really successful," said the Burnley boss.
"He's a good fellow and I'm looking forward to seeing him.
"I enjoyed working with him, but we had some successful times at Palace."
Regardless of the personalities involved, the Clarets know a fifth successive home League win could take them back to the top of the table and five points above the Bees.
Ternent, who may again name an unchanged side if he opts to use a fit-again Andy Cooke from the bench, added: "It's another three points with the added spice of the fact that we haven't lost for about 20 games, apart from that game at Bristol Rovers when the referee cost us, and they haven't lost for 20-odd games either.
"It's another yardstick for us against one of the fancied sides. I am looking forward to it and the lads are looking forward to it.
"It's a pretty level division. We've had a decent start and we've got to maintain that. That's our aim."
And in the first of back-to-back home games, key midfielder Paul Cook is also looking to continue the formula that has seen the Clarets establish themselves among the early promotion challengers.
He said: "If you can go on drawing, picking up points away from home and winning your home games you'll end up in the play-offs. "Our target this year is to be in that top six at the end of the season. Ideally we want to be in the top two, there's no doubt about that.
"But we're not going to say we will be in the top two.
"What we will say is that we're going to do our best, give it our best shot and hopefully it will be good enough."
He added: "I must admit I don't know a lot about Brentford, I haven't come across them at all.
"I would imagine that with people like Ray Lewington at the club from Crystal Palace, and Ron Noades, they will be very well organised and disciplined.
"But again we don't really worry about others teams we play at the moment. That's not being disrespectful to anyone but we know what we've got at the club now.
"As the fans will appreciate now we give our best. Everyone comes off the pitch and we can genuinely say we've done our best.
"At the minute that's taken us up there. I can honestly say if we play well on Saturday and we put the sort of commitment in that we have been doing we're quite confident we'll win the game.
"That's not saying for one minute we're definitely going to win the game. But what we're saying is that if we prepare properly and we do the things we have been doing and we do get beat on the day we'll hold our hands up and say so be it."
Ternent has a 19-man squad at his disposal with his major decision being what level of involvement to give Cooke, who came through a mid-week reserve game with no ill-effects.
Brentford could recall full-back Danny Boxall, one of half-a-dozen former Crystal Palace players in their squad .
Burnley from: Crichton, West, Smith, Mellon, Davis, Thomas, Little, Cook, Branch, Payton, Armstrong, Cooke, Jepson, Mullin, Johnrose, Brass, Cowan, Lee, Weller.
