THE chairman of Lancashire Ambulance Service NHS Trust Lois Louden is to step down when her term of office ends on October 31.
Dr Louden has been a non-executive director of the trust since it was established in 1993, and has been chairman for the past two years.
She said: "I have been very pleased to have been associated with such a successful organisation and would like to express my thanks and admiration for everyone involved in delivering ambulance services to the people of Lancashire." David Hill, chief executive of Lancashire Ambulance Service said: "She brought a great integrity to her work and was very well respected by her fellow directors and all the staff.
"She frequently spent time with crews on the road to gain a first-hand insight of the pressures and problems they routinely face.
"Her knowledge and experience will be a great loss."
Dr Louden will remain a Trustee of the Heart of Lancashire Appeal and the North West Air Ambulance.
