FANCY becoming a part-time ambulance driver?
Volunteers with their own four door, family size car are sought by Greater Manchester Ambulance Service to use their own vehicles to drive non-emergency patients to and from hospital.
Helpers need to have a current, full, clean driving licence and, perhaps more importantly, a caring personality, good interpersonal skills and be willing to give up some spare time.
Emma Bardsley, Patient Transport Service general manager, said: "Volunteer car drivers have a significant contribution to make to the smooth, efficient during of the ambulance service.
"They can make all the difference between those patients who perhaps would not normally need an ambulance but are unable to use public transport."
Volunteers are reimbursed for mileage costs and can arrange availability to suit their circumstances.
Call 0161 231 7921 and ask for personnel if you would like to help.
