IS your garden your pride and joy?

Would you like to use it to raise money for charity by letting members of the public enjoy it too?

If so, you can join the British Red Cross (Northern Region) Open Gardens Scheme.

The entrance fee you charge will go to the charity, which aims to raise £70,000 through the scheme next year.

David Bollenberg, community fund-raiser for the British Red Cross' Lancashire branch, said: "We need the help of garden owners throughout Lancashire, so that we can raise much needed funds next season.

"This will allow us to take our services to even more people in local communities.

"We are looking for all sorts of wonderful gardens, from large estates to small back gardens in ordinary streets, from specialist collections to villages who get together and open several gardens at once."

If you would like to take part, call David Bollenberg on 01772 709555.
