ON the day the NSPCC launched its nationwide Listen to Children Week, a £100,000 appeal was made in East Lancashire.
The NSPCC bought a semi-derelict building in Blackburn town centre, but needed cash for renovations and equipment. Counselling and preventive work would be carried out at the Child Care Centre, in Wellington Street, St John's.
