Eccles A 62 Parr Hare & Hounds 10
A HOUNDS side lacking seven players through injuries, work, holidays and cry-offs, were no match for a well-drilled Eccles outfit.
After an even opening quarter, the homesters took control following their first try and from then on they never looked back.
Trailing 36-10 at the interval, Hounds desperately needed to record the first score of the second half, but were unable to turn pressure into points and Eccles finished the stronger to record a comprehensive victory.
Hounds' points came from tries by Dolphin Glass man-of-the-match Karl Grounds, and outstanding hooker John Paton, plus a goal by second-row Stuart Haycock. Other good efforts for the losers came from stand-off Mike Corrigan, full-back Andy Knapper, second-row Phil Thompson and young props Lee Anders and Gary Hayes.
