Portico Panthers 38 Langworthy 20
PORTICO'S unbeaten run in the NWCL Division One continued with this good win against Langworthy.
Panthers opened their account with a well-worked scrum move, Lee Cunningham off-loading in the tackle for Neil Kearns to score. The conversion was missed but Craig Peel landed a penalty shortly afterwards.
Langworthy hit back with an unconverted try in the corner, but then good work by home half-backs Dave Lee and Keith Tunstall sent Arthur Bradshaw over for his first try, converted by Craig Peel.
A converted try by Langworthy just before half time though left Portico with a narrow margin of 12-10.
Portico were the first on the board in the second half when Tunstall went over for a try, converted by Craig Peel. They then added further tries through Mark Rigby and Bradshaw's second, both converted by Peel, before Langworthy replied with a six-pointer.
Lee Cunningham went in for his second, then debutant Jiasone Dalferro scored at the corner after good work by Bradshaw.
Langworthy grabbed a late consolation try.
Portico's man-the-match was Arthur Bradshaw, closely followed by Chris Fredericks and Keith Tunstall.
