CAN you feel sorry for Atherton's fallen star, Syd Little?
Last week the quiet half of the once mighty Little and Large was reported by a tabloid national paper to be painting and decorating to make ends meet.
Hey, who knows, he might like it.
Surely someone as lucky as he has been - and I mean lucky - would have been wise enough to invest for a rainy day.
After all he did make loadsamoney for old rope while at the top in showbiz.
This week I've spotted another former Atherton man on the box.
It's ex-Leigh journalist Dave Dutton who packed up the profession in the Seventies to take up comedy script writing, won numerous cameo roles in Corrie, and featured in the comedy 'Watching'.
As an advert hoofer doofer these days, I was lucky to catch him cropping up in a bingo advert. Lucky for some, Dut.
