But his thrilling win, boosted later by a superb 3-0 win by Todd Bulmer, failed to turn it round and Classic lost the match 3-2.

Jim Capon, playing team squash after a break of several seasons, gave his side a winning 3-0 start; Linda Gregory followed up in similar fashion.
Vic Moses went down 3-2, despite looking good for a win, but Howard Thornley made no mistake for a comfortable 3-0 triumph.
Graham Draper, the club's Handicap champion, began playing some great squash before being pegged back by a wily opponent, who eventually beat him 3-2.
