TWO exciting exhibitions are set to grace the walls of the Grundy Art Gallery in Blackpool shortly.
The Blackpool Art Society's 115th Annual Exhibition and the Joint Fylde Photographic Societies Exhibition are both opening in the next two weeks.
The BAS show, commencing on October 9, features works from amateur and professional artists from around the Fylde and covers a wide selection of styles and subject matter ranging from the traditional and realistic to the abstract.
The Joint Fylde Photographic Societies show, opening on October 16, will showcase a range of prints on subjects including the natural and the man-made using both straight documentation and new technology.
School children will be able to watch artists at work at a series of workshops with BAS members demonstrating these different mediums.
And budding artists will also have the chance to paint their own still life in either oils, acrylics, watercolours or pastels.
The BAS will be organising various events from lectures to outdoor painting excursions in summer.
Both societies welcome new members and leaflets giving information are available at the gallery.
The Grundy Gallery is open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm.
Admission is free to the exhibitions which both finish on November 19.
