COUNTY Councillor Tim Ormrod is visiting the French town of Tours in the hope of picking up a few tips at the Car Free Cities Conference.
The conference has brought together 70 European cities, regions and local authorities to share knowledge and experience relating to the reduction of car use.
Councillor Ormrod, vice-chairman of Lancashire County Council's highways and transport committee, was due to be accompanied by the director of the county council's environment directorate, Graham Harding, who was to give a presentation on behalf of the national TravelWise network.
TravelWise is an awareness raising campaign that promotes awareness of alternative forms of transport and more efficient car use.
