YOUNGSTERS who completed environmental projects in the summer received a certificate for their hard-work.
Former Burnley councillor John Greenwood was invited to present the awards to the 14 young people aged 13 to 19 who had been members of Burnley Youth Green Action.
Carrie Poskitt, community project officer, said: "This year the team created a willow arch and raised beds at Off Shoots in Towneley Park and work on the canal towpath at Hapton.
"John Greenwood has supported our work for many years and as he retired from the council this year, we decided to make a presentation to him too."
Burnley Youth Green Action is jointly run by British Trust for Conservation Volunteers and Lancashire Wildlife Trust who together make the Burnley Wildlife Partnership, set up in 1992.
The project is sponsored by money landfill tax credits claimed by UK Waste.
