A TEENAGER was put through a terrifying ordeal by a skinhead knifeman who threatened to chop off his victim's finger.
The 17-year-old was mugged at knife-point as he walked to a friend's house in Accrington and was forced to hand over several items of valuable jewellery.
The youth was walking along Dill Hall Lane, Accrington, around 7.45pm on Friday, September 24, when he was attacked but police have only today released details.
The mugger asked the victim for the time and then produced a knife with a six inch blade and told the youngster to hand over his money.
The teenager said he had no cash and the mugger demanded by replying he would take a gold ring.
The victim of the attack said he did not want to hand over the ring because it was a family heirloom. The skinhead then said: "If you don't give it me I will chop your finger off."
He also demanded a gold bracelet and a silver T bat chain that the teenager was wearing round his neck.
After threatening the youth the attacker calmly walked off in the direction of Clayton-le-Moors.
He was white, had short cropped hair, 5ft 9in, aged between 18 and 20, clean shaven, with an oval shaped face and average build.
The thief spoke with a local accent and was wearing a yellow jacket with a zip up front.
People with any information about the incident are being urged to call the confidential Crimestoppers line on 0800 555111 or Accrington police on 01254 382141.
