CHANGES were promised for the millennium season by league secretary Richard Brown at the presentation evening held at Accrington Cricket Club.
The league executive will meet in December to formulate plans for the league's 100th season. A book on the history of the league is currently being compiled and a veterans competition is also in the offing.
The secretary also expressed his delight at the good turnout at the event, particularly of the non-prizewinners who had come to support the league.
In addition, Mr Brown praised the worthy prizewinners and also thanked the Lancashire Evening Telegraph for their excellent coverage throughout the season.
League president Jack Hartley presented the trophies to the winning captains, beginning with the Bullough Cup to Attock captain Khyber Shah.
A total of three players were awarded two trophies.
Liquat Khan of Attock picked up the A Division Player of the Year Trophy and the trophy for most wickets, Ian Jackson of Peel Park won both bowling prizes for the B Division and Alistair Dormer stayed long enough to pick up the B Division player of the year trophy and also the B Division batting average trophy. Accrington A's Nigel Stockley won the League Executive Trophy for services to the league.
