A MAN needed stitches after being attacked with a broken bottle by a gang of youths after a night out in the town centre.
The 50-year-old victim was walking home along Charter Street, Accrington, when the incident happened between 2.30am and 2.45am last Friday.
Several witnesses saw a group of four or five youths and one female set upon the man, who was taken to hospital for stitches in a cut to his head.
Police are trying to establish a motive and have appealed for more witnesses to come forward.
