TYLDESLEY SC honoured their Top Girls and Top Boys at the 28th Annual Mini Gala.
The youngsters were divided into two age groups (U8s and U10s), many enjoying their first taste of competitive swimming and demonstrating their skills over 25 metres at backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle with the older group also participating at 25 metres butterfly.
Claire Chilton hit gold, silver and bronze at U8s for 12 points and the Top Girl Trophy, closely followed by Melanie Gregory (11), Katie Heywood (10), Emma Chadwick 7 and Melissa Reeder (3).
There was little doubt about Top Boy with James Robinson collecting a hat-trick of wins at U8s for 15 points.
Second went to Jack Steele (8) with Christopher Hindley and Liam Mason joint third (6).
Kimberley Banner led the field at U10s, dropping just one point in 20 for her Top Girl award.
Also in the swimming: Sophie Heywood 12, Holly McKenzie 11, Melanie Tattersall 8 and Louise Toye 4.
Michael Robinson (15 points) was Top Boy at U10s after a great battle with Sean Redmond (13), followed by Richard Hooper (11), Liam Hodgson (8) and Stephen Vincent (6).
Guests at the gala were Karen Goodhew from sponsors Fastech Testing (Leigh) and Mavis Bent, president of Tyldesley S&WPC.
