KEEN greens - and everyone else - are invited to do their bit and join in Bury Environment Week.
Seven days of events starting on Sunday have been lined up offering a range of serious and fun projects to highlight and help defend the local environment.
The week culminates next Saturday in a huge Environment Fair, the biggest in the region, which runs at the Castle Leisure Centre, Bury from 10am to 4pm, and features more than 50 stalls.
There will be a variety of entertainment during the day, from Bury samba band Zambura to slide shows by Chester Zoo and Lancashire Wildlife Trust, wheelchair dancing performances from Kaleidoscope, and a drama from Tottington High School.
There will also be a unicycle and juggling workshop, and talks about the healing powers of crystals and flowers, as well as a children's "talk and touch" event involving creepy crawlies.
And there are chances to win prizes in various competitions.
Trees of Time and Place is a personal tree-growing campaign for the millennium, which encourages people to collect and grow local tree seeds in local woodlands.
Tree-growing kits will be handed out free of charge at the Environment Fair. Diary of events
