I READ with interest how the council is going to impose £1,000 fines on people who do not clear up after dog fouling.
So that means that anybody who gets up at 6am, in all weathers, to put their dog on the leash and walk it out will be liable. Other dog owners will just put their dog out of the door and get hassle from no one. Once again, the responsible dog owner will cop it.
Why, I wonder, doesn't any council enforce responsible leash laws. I've just walked out of my front door - dog on leash - and a massive Alsatian leapt at us. There wasn't a leash in sight!
If councils are going to be strict in one area, and not another, then law enforcement is a waste of time.
