IT'S all gone quackers for Preston's Deepdale Duck after he notched up appearances on four television stations in one day!
The PNE mascot managed to get his beak on BBC1, ITV, Sky News and Sky Sports all in one day after he appeared at the Labour Party Conference in Bournemouth to back our bid to host the World Cup in 2006.
The Duck, as he likes to be known, was also shown participating in a bizarre mascot race along the final furlong at the Huntingdon race course. The race was shown on Sky Sports as well.
Duck said: "It was an amazing weekend. I drove more than 1,000 miles and the cameras just turned up wherever I was.
"I would have won that race if I hadn't been legged-up at the fifth by Bertie Bantom from Bradford FC. All the national press were there as well - and they wanted us to beat up Cyril the Swan from Swansea."
But if anyone was thinking that Deepdale Duck's 15 minutes of fame was over with, they'd better think again. PNE this week received confirmation that he will be appearing in a pop video for American group Perfect 10, who shot part of their performance at Deepdale last week. The Duck's impromptu dance with the girls provoked such a response from fans that producers were left with no choice but to keep him in the final product.
