IN reply to Councillor Derek Boden (Your Letters, Oct 1) I would point out that I am no politician and I am certainly not interested in scoring points against the council over the matter of Elms Precinct.
My main point in my previous correspondence was that the council should take responsibility for their lack of action over the previous seven months.
However, after conspicuously attending the Area Board meeting on Monday - the first I had been aware of and which I found very enlightening- I feel sure that the council is now fully aware of the feelings of the community. As expected, the crowd wanted blood and the council made excuses. But all in all I found it very productive and have signed up to be part of the Action Group suggested by Coun Boden.
North West Properties have a lot to answer for and neither the council nor the community should stand for this situation any longer. I hope that both the council and local residents can work in conjunction to force North West Properties into making amends for the destruction they have caused to our local community.
SINEAD GRACEY,
Pilkington Park resident.
