CHORLEY midfielder Adam Critchley is out of his side's FA Umbro Trophy tie with Moor Green at Victory Park tomorrow.
Critchley could be sidelined for some time after tearing a thigh muscle in the Magpies 1-1 draw with Netherfield Kendal on Tuesday night.
And with full-back Paul Fleming also hampered by a groin problem, Ken Wright's men could be in for a rocky ride against the current leaders of the Dr Martens Western Division.
"I will be talking to former Kidderminster manager Graham Alner to get a run down on them," said Wright.
"But looking at their results this season they haven't lost a game in the league so far so they are going to be a force to be reckoned with.
"We need to bounce back, though, after last Saturday's FA Cup defeat at Marine."
Meanwhile, midfielder Colin Potts looks set to be on his way out of Victory Park.
The former Preston North End apprentice wants to move to another club, with Bamber Bridge and Lancaster both being touted, and Wright won't stand in his way.
"Colin has made it quite clear he doesn't see his future with us and I only want players here who are fully committed to Chorley," added Wright.
MICKY Graham is looking for ROSSENDALE UNITED to maintain the exceptionally-high standards they set in midweek when they entertain another leading FNWTFL Division One side Vauxhall Motors at Dark Lane tomorrow.
After stunning leaders Abbey Hey 5-1 on Tuesday, Rossendale boss Graham is asking for a new level of consistency from his players. "Someone was due a scoreline like that, it just happened to come against the top of the table.
"But we have let ourselves down in the past, especially in cup games.
"Tuesday testified to what ability the players have. Now they have to come up with it week in, week out."
Graham is hoping to keep Ged Walsh, on loan from Accrington Stanley, for a few weeks and he should be in tomorrow's squad.
Matt Knowles will be back after missing Tuesday's game through traffic problems and Vinnie Patterson has now proved his recovery from ankle trouble.
STEVE Parry will demand a major improvement from CLITHEROE as far as defending is concerned when they take on Atherton LR at Shawbridge in the FNWTFL First Division tomorrow.
"We defended like novices," said the Clitheroe manager after their midweek defeat by St Helens Town.
"It's not good enough, the players know that and we have to improve.."
Clitheroe - and especially their manager - will expect to beat Atherton and Brian Welch could be back in contention.
Darren Norman is unavailable this weekend but Mark Stewart, who has now re-signed for the club, will be in the squad. RAMSBOTTOM UNITED have launched a bid to bring midfielder Karl Brown back to the Riverside.
Brown, a former YTS player with Manchester United, quit Rammy for UniBond League outfit Flixton during the summer.
But manager Ken Bridge has put in seven days notice on the player and hopes to have him back at the club next week.
"Karl is a very talented player," said secretary John Maher.
"He was doing really well for us the last time he was here until he broke his leg.
United travel to Skelmersdale United in the FNWTL First Division tomorrow. But Warren Brierley is still suspended, Martin Hulme is unavailable and David Yorke-Robinson is doubtful with a rib injury.
GREAT HARWOOD boss Denis Underwood is stepping up his search for new blood - despite Monday night's brilliant result against Fleetwood Freeport.
Freeport had only lost one in 10 before Harwood sent them packing with a 2-1 victory at The Showground, which was their third consecutive win.
But Underwood still believes he is one or two players short and has acted quickly by bringing Clive Dunn back to The Showground. "Monday night was very encouraging but we are still operating with only the bare bones of a squad," said Underwood. "I've got to keep looking to strengthen."
Mark Walsh, Gary Butcher and Nick Grogan should all be back for tomorrow's trip to Kidsgrove.
But Dunn is suspended and Andy Clarkson is unavailable.
BACUP BOROUGH are starting to hit form at the right time in the FNWTL Second Division.
And manager Brent Peters hopes they can maintain that momentum for their League Cup preliminary round tie with Formby at West View.
"We've got a team to be reckoned with at the moment," said Peters.
"Confidence is high and we can't wait for our next game to come around so I hope we can keep the run going."
Peters will welcome back Mark Rawstron who missed last weekend's 1-1 draw at Squires Gate.
NELSON player-boss John Bailey could be without five of his first team squad for the Blues League Cup Preliminary round tie at Chadderton.
Andy Haworth, Nigel Coates and Bailey himself are all definite non-starters.
And the Blues boss will also make late checks on keeper Rob Mulloy and Kieron Roberts.
