THE Blackpool Borough Indoor Bowls Centre will host the Four Counties Challenge Trophy this Saturday (Oct 9), commencing 10am.
The annual event is held in one of the competing four counties of Lancashire, Yorkshire, Cumbria and Dumfriesshire each year and this is the second time the Boro have been chosen to host the prestigious event.
Each county is represented by their top 16 players with sessions commencing at 10am, 1.45pm and 5pm.
The Lancashire squad led by Alan Mayne includes ten Blackpool-based players.
Their first match at 10am will probably be the toughest against the talented Cumbria team.
With several international stars and current English club and county national champions, they will be hard to stop, but the Lancashire lads are hoping home advantage will help swing the balance in their favour.
On Saturday October 30 Lancashire again face Cumbria in the English National County Championship Liberty Trophy at York IBC.
With the autumn league season now well under way at the Boro Centre, there are a few vacancies available for any new players wishing to try their hand at the indoor game during the winter months.
Anyone interested in taking part should contact David Holt at the club on 751400.
