A CARPET firm has rolled up significant savings thanks to an investment.
Causeway Carpets, of Roe Lee Mill, Blackburn, is now in line for an award for its efforts to cut energy costs.
The firm introduced equipment to remove heat from waste liquid used in the dyeing process.
The heat saved means the firm uses its oil-fired steam boiler less.
"By using just a small amount of electricity we are able to reclaim large amounts of energy which would otherwise have been wasted," said David McBride, production manager.
"We are saving at least £1,000 a year on our energy bill."
The firm is now in the running for the Norweb Business Energy Awards and the winners will be announced on October 21.
