AS Bury's first Woman of the Year prepares to hand over the crown in two weeks' time, she has been finishing off her reign in style.

Lily Reid (72) enjoyed an exclusive trip to London thanks to the generosity of Bury North MP David Chaytor.

Mr Chaytor won the weekend trip when his raffle ticket was drawn at the Mayoral Ball. He then donated it to Lily.

Lily, of Bond Street, enjoyed the sights of capital, two musicals, but the highlight was an exclusive tour of the Millennium Dome.

She said: "It was awesome. It was fabulous to see the Dome and we had a trip on the Thames around the Dome."
