MORECAMBE daredevil Hugh Morrison knows all about life's high and lows.
The marine diver from Redwood Drive is claiming a UK record for the highest skydive and lowest subsea dive by a civilian.
Hugh, 52, has just returned from a two-week break in America skydiving and is waiting for verification that his 35,133 feet jump has beaten the UK record.
As a marine diving expert at the Morecambe Bay gas field, he has descended to depths of 400ft as part of maintenance work on platforms in the Irish Sea.
"It was fantastic out in the States and I'm now waiting to hear from the British Parachute Association to determine whether my highest jump and subsea dives give me a record for a civilian - although it could take some time," said Hugh.
"As well as being a great thrill, the jump has raised funds for carers throughout the Morecambe and Lancaster areas."
Hugh has raised nearly £2,000 for the Carers National Association, which campaigns for people who balance work with caring for relatives and friends.
