A COUPLE today marked 50 years together with a celebration for the whole family.
Alec and Annie Moran, of Norfolk Street, Darwen, met at a dance in 1947 shortly after Alec's return from service in the Second World War.
They were married two years later at the Railway Road Methodist Church, Darwen - and have never looked back.
After the war, Alec worked at Vernon Carus Bleach works until the 1970s. Annie was a weaver during the war and later joined the team at Crown Wallcoverings, Darwen.
The couple have two sons, Brian 47, Leslie 44, and two grandchildren Stephen and Natalie who enjoyed the anniversary celebrations.
Alec said " We've been very fortunate to have such a happy marriage.
"Our secret is lots of give and take".
