SCORES of new jobs were set to be created in Darwen after the purchase of two mills by entrepreneur Arthur Morgan.
He bought Hampden Mill, the former Vernen Carus factory, for £500,000. And he had also clinched a deal to buy the vandal-plagued T J Harwood factory on Kay Street.
Both sites were to be leased to local firms and would provide a major jobs boost for the town.
