POLICE in Burnley are appealing for a man who called them with information on the night murder victim Colin Hughes was killed to get back in touch.
The anonymous caller rang from a telephone kiosk at the junction with Rossendale Road and Cog Lane at 58 minutes after midnight on September 10.
Det Insp Simon Leach said: "We want that caller to get back in touch.
"It would appear he has relevant information. It is not suspected that he was involved in any offence.
"We want him to come forward in confidence. He can contact me direct on 01282 472204, on the Burnley police station number 01282 425001, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.''
Three men have appeared in court charged with murder.
Mr Hughes, 40, of Beverley Street, Burnley, died in Burnley General Hospital on Friday, September 10, after being found by police officers lying in a pool of blood just yards from his terrace home earlier that day.
